About Luke Prater
Luke Prater is a rising Texas country singer-songwriter and guitarist whose authentic sound blends heartfelt storytelling, gritty hooks, and melodic guitar-driven tunes that echo the greats while carving his own path. A proud native of La Vernia, Texas, Luke has been playing guitar since he was in diapers and started singing in church as soon as they’d let him on stage. Raised on the sounds of George Strait, Alan Jackson, and classic country, he delivers a fresh take on traditional Texas country with nostalgic warmth, energy, and real-life heart.
His debut full-length album “Pickin’ and Grinnin’” is out now, featuring standouts like the title track (with Curtis Grimes), “Take That Chance,” “This Town,” “Crossroads,” and more. Luke has quickly built a strong following through relentless touring—often playing 100+ shows a year—honky-tonk residencies, and high-energy performances with his band.
Whether he’s lighting up venues like 2920 Roadhouse, Gilley’s, or hometown spots in La Vernia, he brings a polished yet down-to-earth show that gets crowds singing along and feeling every word.
At just 23 when he began gaining traction, Luke has already earned praise for his vocal talent, guitar skills, and songwriting ability.
