About J. Rodney Dunn and the Spring Creek Band
J. Rodney Dunn and the Spring Creek Band is a vibrant, Texas-based country music outfit hailing from San Angelo, delivering an electrifying blend of Western Swing and classic country tunes that capture the heart of the Lone Star State.
Led by the seasoned frontman J.R. Dunn, the band features a flexible 5- to 8-piece lineup including talented musicians like John Boon, Mike Dolan, and Randy Blackwood, with occasional additions of fiddle, steel guitar, and harmonica to amp up the authenticity and energy for larger venues. With over 14 years of playing together and more than 100 gigs across Texas—including standout performances at the San Angelo Cowboy Gathering, the San Angelo VFW hall, and spots like Gravity Check Saloon—this very committed group has built a reputation for high-energy shows that get crowds two-stepping and singing along.
Drawing inspiration from country legends such as Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Ray Price, and Jerry Jeff Walker, their sound mixes timeless honky-tonk rhythms with fresh, dynamic flair, earning them praise as one of the hottest acts in the regional scene.
Whether belting out heartfelt ballads or upbeat swing numbers, J. Rodney Dunn and the Spring Creek Band promise an unforgettable evening of boot-scootin' entertainment, backed by the Arc Light's modern sound system and their road-ready setup.
